The Philosophy
This site is built on a single idea: truth, like light, can be both a wave and a particle. Some posts are "Waves"—a steady commentary on the tide of news. Others are "Particles"—a focused analysis meant to break one idea open. This is the search for the signal in the noise.
The name of this site is Breaking Waves.
On the surface, it’s a metaphor about the coast - about the constant, rhythmic crash of ideas and events on the shore of our collective consciousness.
Underneath, it’s a metaphor about physics.
Light, the very medium of information, exists in a state of paradox. It is both a relentless wave and a discrete particle. To truly understand it, you must accept its dual nature. This site is an attempt to do the same with the information that bombards us daily.
What you can expect here is a commitment to that duality.
Sometimes, you will find a Wave: a steady, persistent rhythm of linked posts, brief commentary, stray thoughts, and reactions to the tide of news.
Other times, you will find a Particle: a single, focused essay aimed at breaking one idea open. A deeper look at a specific product, a system, or a cultural artifact.
The topics will generally drift toward technology, media, and the hidden systems that shape our lives. But the real subject is the act of seeing. This is my attempt to build a lens.
Thank you for reading.
